Your RV campsite will provide additional living space that you can take advantage of during your next camping trip. Use the following functional features to improve the outdoor space that you are supplied with.
Ground Mat
Shop for a lightweight, waterproof mat that is designed for use when camping. Use the mat to cover the part of your campsite that you will be walking upon the most. The mat will keep your shoes clean and dry. The use of the mat will reduce the amount of dirt that is tracked into your recreational vehicle.
At the end of each camping stint, use a water hose to rinse off the mat. Then, allow the mat to air dry before rolling it up and stowing it away in your recreational vehicle.
Wash Station
Prepare a wash station that can be used to rinse off dishes, pet food bowls, hands, and feet. First, pick out a container that can be used to store fresh water. The container should be weighted, which will prevent the container from tipping over when not in use. Purchase sponges and scrub brushes that can be used in the wash station.
Place the wash station alongside the steps leading to your RV. Get into the habit of using the wash station right before you head into your RV each evening. The use of the wash station will streamline cleanup sessions. It will also prevent surfaces inside your vehicle from getting dirty.
Shelter
Set up a shelter that blocks the sun and provides protection from the rain. A portable awning can be used to create a makeshift shelter that will provide adequate protection. An awning will also improve the appearance of the campsite that your RV is parked on.
If you plan on using the shelter at night, invest in tea lights or a similar light product that can be used to illuminate areas outdoors. Secure the lights to the edge of the awning that you install or around the framework that it is attached to.
Furnishings
Decide upon some lightweight yard furnishing products that can be used on your campsite. Many modern furnishings are portable. These types of furnishings can be folded up when not in use.
The furnishings that you ultimately purchase should include pieces that can be used to create a dining area and a sitting area. The pieces that you invest in should contain washable surfaces that are easy to care for. For more information on RV campsites, contact a professional near you.

When you hear the word "camping," what comes to mind? You might picture someone sleeping in the woods, perhaps in a tent or a hammock. Indeed, this is camping. A big part of camping is sleeping in the woods, or at least out in nature. However, camping can also be so much more than that. It's an opportunity to re-connect with nature and to disconnect from technology. It's a chance to cook over an open fire, tell stories around that fire, and spend time with those you love most. All in all, camping can be an incredible experience, and we're excited to write about it on this blog.
